Foods You Should Eat to Lose Weight Fast

So your motivation for losing weight is very high. First you have incorporated a steady workout routine either at home or at a gym. Second, you have cleaned out your fridge and now need to fill it with foods that will assist you on losing weight.

The difficult part is figuring out what foods will do the trick. Well the following foods will help you reach your weight loss goals.

Natural Starchy Carb and Whole Grains

  • Oatmeal (old fashioned)
  • Yams or Sweet Potatoes
  • Brown rice
  • Whole grain bread
  • Make sure you are grabbing whole grains. Whole grain foods are healthier due to the nutritional content and are rich in fiber, and minerals. Now I know baked potatoes, popcorn, backed chips, and fries are great to eat but if losing weight is your goal, then say no. Besides eating whole grains to lose weight, other benefits include protection against coronary heart disease, certain cancers and even diabetes.

    Vegetables

  • Broccoli
  • Spinach
  • Salad greens
  • Tomatoes
  • Peppers (any color)
  • Onions
  • You should be eating vegetables on the regular but you knew that already right?Vegetables are low in fat and calories, which means you can eat plenty of during dinner right? Also vegetables such as tomatoes and broccoli can help fill your stomach faster that other foods. Veggies are an excellent source of dietary fiber and can provide you with the extra energy to get through those tough workouts. Any vegetables would do but the above are some of my favorites and all will help you lose weight effectively.

    Fruits

  • Grapefruit
  • Apples
  • Blueberries
  • Grapes
  • Oranges
  • Fruits hold the same benefits as vegetables. They are low calorie foods that possess many health benefits due to their high mineral and vitamin content. One of my favorite fruits is the grapefruit. Grapefruits can benefit weight loss in many ways. They are low in calories, low in sodium, high in potassium and high in fat burning enzymes. These can benefit weight loss in different ways. Grapefruits are almost 90 percent water. With that said, eating any fruit with a high water content helps boost water ingestion and increasing water consumption can give more energy and can help boost the metabolism. If grapefruits are too sour and tart for you, try oranges in your diet.

    Lean Proteins

  • Egg whites (farm raised)
  • Whey or Casein protein (protein powder supplements)
  • Chicken Breast
  • Salmon (wild Alaskan)
  • Turkey Breast
  • Top round steak
  • The amount of lean protein is one of the most important parts of your diet. Make sure it is LEAN protein which means protein above that are without or very low in fat. Protein sources greatly influence your metabolic rate and thus helping you lose weight. Whey and casein protein mixed in milk can taste just as good as a fattening milkshake.

According to Wellnessresournces.com, quality protein also helps you “sustain muscle during weight loss, improve muscle fitness, improve immunity, improve antioxidant function, build HDL cholesterol, and enhance insulin and leptin function – all of which contribute toward optimal weight management efforts over time.” Try eating a couple of eggs for breakfast. Doing this can boost weight loss by 65%, compared to the same amount of calories from carbohydrates – like a bagel.

     Drinks

  • Water
  • Green Tea
  • 100% Natural Citrus Juice (Grapefruit,Orange, etc)
  •  Want to lose some body weight? Start drinking more water! There should be no excuse since water is all around you. Water covers two thirds of the planet and drinking water helps flush out toxins that like to “hang out” in your body. Also water helps fill you up and by doing that you will eat less.

Several studies have hinted that green tea provides a boost to exercise-induced weight loss. Green tea is rich in antioxidants which kick starts your metabolism. Drinking green tea is also a great pre workout beverage as caffeine is one of the powerful ingredients. I know when I drink green tea it helps reduce my appetite so you should have a cup or two. It does have a bitter taste so adding honey to it helps drinking green tea more enjoyable.

As for the the citrus juices, read above the same benefits of eating the fruits themselves and you will see why you should add them in your diet.

    You Can Do It!

Nutrition is very important in weight loss. Along with a sound exercise program, you will turn you body into a fat burning furnace and therefore lose the pounds you don’t want.
