Working Out at Home

Many people in these tough times are pinching pennies in every way possible thus changing their lifestyle. Some people have removed certain expenses from their budget and that means gym memberships. Your health should not take a dive because you can’t make it to the gym anymore. Habits can be created just as easy as they can be broken and you can create an effective home workout that rivals one at the gym. With the proper advice one can meet spectacular results performing workouts nowhere near a regular gym setting.

Buy a Jump Rope

Jumping rope is possibly the single most beneficial form of cardiovascular exercise a person can do! The fact that this fun exercise is an excellent fat burner and it improves your eye-hand coördination is a plus. In just 15 to 20 minutes, jumping rope will give you an unparalleled total body workout. Jumping rope targets the overall body and is an excellent warm up exercise. Boxers and Mixed Martial Artists of yesterday and today use jumping rope for warming up the muscles and as a conditioning exercise. You can jump rope just about anywhere – alone or in a group – and can easily be incorporated into anyone’s lifestyle. You can buy a cheap one at a sporting goods store or in store such as Wal-Mart or Target for just a few bucks. So go out and buy a jump rope and start reaping the benefits.

Schedule Your Workout Sessions and Stick to Them

Schedule the time and stick to it. Make your workout at home time an actual appointment on your calendar. Place reminders in your phone throughout the day to remind you to keep to your schedule. The consistency will help to make sure that you stick to the plan. This also sends a signal to other people who will realize your home workouts are a priority in your everyday schedule. It’s important that you alert everyone to this time and make sure it’s not broken. Turn off your phone, turn off the television, grab a water bottle and turn on some music. Speaking of music…

Turn on Your Favorite Tunes

Turning on your favorite music will add a little more movation to your workouts. Go ahead and turn up the volume and get in the mood. Listening to your favorite music can do wonders for you mentally. Some people like classical music when working out (really?) others like rock n roll, other like hip hop. Whatever your music of choice is, go ahead and turn the volume high but not too high so you won’t disturb the neighbors.

Purchase an Exercise Ball

I tell you what, those exercise balls do not look like much but they can help you stay super fit around the good ol midsection with all the core exercises you can do. Core exercises on the ball help strengthen core muscles including the hard-to-get-to muscles. They also improve balance and overall coördination. Some of these moves are perfect for beginners and there are some advanced exercises that require previous experience with an exercise ball. If you’re new to the exercise ball, there are usually instructions on the different exercises you can do. They are pretty cheap also (under $25) and fit nicely in the corner of your workout area or closet. Pick up one today.

It’s Up to You

It up to you how you attempt to work out at home. There are many people who prefer to work out at home as oppose to at a gym. For the people who have a hard time working out at home maybe some of these tips will help you stay fit while at home.

I’ve been trying to lose weight for years. Actually I have over and over again. It gets old. :( I’m going to try another diet plan, but I’m not sure which one. Have any of you tried the Every Other Day Diet or the Diet Solution Program? If so, how did it work for you?
